Arts reflection

Yesterday our school went to town in the Commons because this term we have been focused on the arts and drama. We did plays about Māori values like manaakitia, kotahitanga and whānaungatanga. I think my highlight was my dance because everyone got to do it and it was a good way to express the feeling of the character. I think we connected to the audience because when we said things we faced the audience.  The community connected to the performance because it showed them that, even if you’re singing solo and you fail, you try again.
I thought I saw lots of whānaungatanga like the kids showing their parents around and I noticed when Soraya saw her family she gave him a hug. This has inspired me to do more working together on plays when I'm in a higher year and to not be afraid to do something new.
